Here are a few words from Bianca:
"I have always been intrigued by how the human body operates and always dreamt of following in my father's footsteps as a medical doctor as he always inspired me to 1) always be interested in people's stories and 2) be open to help wherever and however he could. God led me on a slightly different path, and I ended up graduating as a Physio in 2018 in Pretoria (TUKS) which is also where I was born and raised. I completed my community service at Tshwane District Hospital in Pretoria 2019. I got married in 2020 to my best friend, Corin - together we have dreamt (and prayed) of the day that we could live close to the ocean side, but we felt that we were still needed in Pretoria. I worked at Little Company of Mary Hospital (now known as Life Groenkloof Hospital in close relationship with Linda Carstens, a very experienced Physio and Dr. Wiebren Duim (Neurologist). Together we ran the pain clinic, which is also where my interest in Chronic pain was sparked, and I started the process to complete the modules to the Train Pain Certificate. I also found great value in exploring- and assisting people with some nutritional coaching through Herbalife Nutrition, as I believe the body cannot function (never mind recover) without the correct fuel.
During 2022 a door was opened for us to move to Somerset West when my husband received a job offer at AAT Composites. He moved in June 2022 and I followed end of August. Ever since I have been working as a locum Physio at various practices around Strand and Somerset West.
I have a passion for rehabilitation as I have also been on the other end as a patient. I have suffered from- and had to recover from my own personal sports injuries - I have been dancing my whole life and after a series of injuries I had to make peace with the fact that a professional dancing career on the side would not be a reality for me anymore, fortunately the road to recovery lead me to acquire new skills, such as Pilates MATT Teacher training, Hydrotherapy which helps me to assist others on their road to recovery.
I experience great joy in helping and serving people. I love to engage in rescue efforts, church events, cooking and preparations for friends and family, and charity work.
I value the relationships I have built through these efforts greatly therefore, serving others will always be at the heart of what I do.
I am very honoured to have the opportunity of assisting Lee in taking care of her patients during this time."
